Not every image works in colour. Sometimes there lies a more interesting story in light alone. Such were the circumstances throughout the Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park, and indeed throughout much of New Zealand. The Play of the sun's beams upon the billowing clouds atop the snow-capped peaks, or the moody, low-hanging cloud shrouding Milford Sound are perfect for capturing in monochrome. Removing the colour can help show the raw details, almost essential in a land like New Zealand
